UFC Lightweight Isaac Vallie-Flagg will be fighting undefeated Brazilian Elias Silverio tonight at UFC Fight Night 35 in his first fight since his split decision win over crafty, tough veteran Yves Edwards. Ike has been out just a couple of weeks short of a year due to a back injury that forced him out of a fight with UFC veteran Sam Stone.  Tonight he hopes to keep that win streak that extends all the way back to 2007 rolling and I know that he’s been itching to get back in the octagon for a while now.

Now, I consider Ike a friend but that doesn’t mean I won’t ask him the hard hitting questions.

SBOI: Ike, you’re fighting tomorrow night in Georgia in your first fight in almost a year. I have to ask you…. Is it weird fighting on a Wednesday? Cause it’s kinda weird watching fights on a Wednesday.

IKE: A little, yeah. Ha.

SBOI: Well, good luck tonight, Ike. I’ll definitely be tuning in to watch your fight when the prelims start Wednesday on Fox Sports 1 at 5PM ET/ 2PM PT.

IKE: Thanks, man.

You can follow Ike on Twitter and you should!

How can you not love these guys?

Two of our best friends are back! The Goon Squad themselves: Dominique Robinson and James Chaney. We love having these guys on because not only are they awesome dudes but they fit right in with our non-cliche show. We talk about everything from dealing with losses, the love/hate relationship with MMA, struggling with the politics of the business, and whether (and how) it’s all worth the struggle to do what you love. Deep shit, man. Of course there’s plenty of laughs as well -like those ‘fruity hats’. Enjoy this interview with two of the most insightful and honest guys in MMA (and in general!)

JordanMein_FFresh off a devastating stoppage of Dan Miller at UFC 158, rising UFC Star Jordan Mein joins us to talk about his career and his life outside MMA. The interview is even more timely with the breaking announcement that Jordan will be replacing  Dan Hardy to fight Matt Brown at UFC on Fox 7: Henderson vs Melendez on April 20th in San Jose. Hardy was denied licence to fight after an irregular EKG in his medicals (not an injury as originally reported)

We were also joined by Patrick Guera and discussed recent MMA news. Enjoy.

Veteran Women’s Bantamweight Fighter Julie Kedzie made a lot of fans with her wars in Strikeforce against Alexis Davis and Miesha Tate as well as her classic, historic fight with Gina Carano.

In our epic conversation with Julie we discussed her recent signing to the newly minted UFC Women’s Bantamweight division. But it wasn’t limited to shoptalk. Jules frankly spoke about her struggles being a female fighter in the early days, internet trolls and haters, the unfair criticism her coach Greg Jackson gets, what motivates her in MMA and in life, female fight promotion Invicta FC -where Julie is a commentator, the future of women’s MMA, general thoughts on life and MMA, and of course, the time she pooped her pants during a fight.

A great conversation with a veteran of the sport from a female perspective but certainly not limited to just fighting or being a woman. As always, we like to have conversations rather than interviews and Julie was a pleasure to chat with.  Enjoy!!

And be sure to follow her on twitter @Julesk_fighter.
