interview

Veteran Women’s Bantamweight Fighter Julie Kedzie made a lot of fans with her wars in Strikeforce against Alexis Davis and Miesha Tate as well as her classic, historic fight with Gina Carano.

In our epic conversation with Julie we discussed her recent signing to the newly minted UFC Women’s Bantamweight division. But it wasn’t limited to shoptalk. Jules frankly spoke about her struggles being a female fighter in the early days, internet trolls and haters, the unfair criticism her coach Greg Jackson gets, what motivates her in MMA and in life, female fight promotion Invicta FC -where Julie is a commentator, the future of women’s MMA, general thoughts on life and MMA, and of course, the time she pooped her pants during a fight.

A great conversation with a veteran of the sport from a female perspective but certainly not limited to just fighting or being a woman. As always, we like to have conversations rather than interviews and Julie was a pleasure to chat with.  Enjoy!!

And be sure to follow her on twitter @Julesk_fighter.

If you read my review of Chael Sonnen’s book “The Voice of Reason A VIP Pass to Enlightenment“, you know I enjoyed it and Chael appreciated my review. So when I asked him if he’d do not so much the standard interview about MMA, but more a discussion about some of the topics in the book, Chael was gracious enough to give me his time. We talked about Religion, Politics, Conspiracy Theories, and his dog Mr. Danger Waffles! But mostly it was about critical thinking and how much it’s lacking in society.

With no shortage of interviews about Chael’s upcoming rematch with Anderson Silva, I decided to interview Chael Sonnen, author and sociologist, rather than Chael Sonnen MMA fighter. I hope you enjoy our discussion and if you do, you’ll probably really enjoy Chael’s book.

Thanks for the time, buddy!

We also spoke to undefeated UFC Heavyweight Shane Del Rosario about his upcoming UFC 146 fight with fellow undefeated Stipe Miocic. Enjoy!

Way back in July of 2011, Chael Sonnen said he would do an interview with me but suggested that I might want to wait. Chael was doing a ton of media at the time so I took that rain check. Now with the exciting and unexpected news that Chael would be fighting Michael Bisping, with his original opponent Mark Munoz out due to injury, I decided to cash in that rain check. I reminded Chael about it and told him that whenever he was free we’d do the interview. Later that day, Chael called me for a chat. Never let it be said that Chael isn’t a man of his word.
